Complaints Procedure
Our commitment to transparency
At Jobs on a Ship, we maintain the highest standards of professional recruitment.
We want to state clearly: no seafarer is ever charged a fee by our company to secure employment onboard.
We have never received such a fee and never will. If you are ever asked for money to secure a job, please be aware this is a major red flag.
How to raise a grievance
Every crew member has the legal right to voice concerns should they feel they have been treated unfairly. We encourage all crew to follow the formal complaints procedure outlined in their specific Onboard Staff Handbook.
If you have followed the internal process and have not received a satisfactory resolution, please escalate your concerns in the following order:
- Immediate Supervisor
- Head of Department
- Master (Captain) onboard your ship
- Shoreside HR department of the company you are currently employed with.
